Fall to me, smells like pomegranate!
Back home once I was a kid, my dad used to buy pomegranate every week during the season.
We used to sit and deseeding pomegranate for an hour or so. why so long? well, because you have to be gentle with this fruit, you don't want to smash the seeds right? Then once we had a huge bowl full of pomegranate seeds we mixed it with Persian Hogweed (گلپر) and salt! This is also one of the snacks that always get serves at Yalda Night.
Yalda Night or Shab-e Yalda is one of the most ancient fall/winter festivals in Iran, celebrating the longest and darkest night of the year and it's happening in 3 weeks!
To honoring the tradition of eating pomegranate with Persian hogweed and salt at Yalda Night, this year I made a cocktail out of it!
You might have seen lots of pomegranate cocktails before, but this Persian Hogweed rim takes this cocktail to the next level. If you're Iranian, it definitely brings back some childhood memories with adulthood twist too!
It has already became one of my favorite cocktails, I mean you can't go wrong with this heavenly delicious, gorgeous fruit!
