There are many, many ways to use apples in desserts and upside down cake is one of my favorite ones. The apples make the cake juicy and the spices in the cake makes it warm and comforting. Amazing combination for a fall dessert.
You can use dulce de leche, store-bought caramel sauce or even a home made caramel, it ll your call. The fun part of making this cake for me is that I gets to arrange apples in so many different ways. You can choose your own way doing it, just keep in mind that the more apple, the better!
